      David, the app is really out of date. I haven’t worked on it since Android version 2, so it may well just not work on your phone. I can’t promise anything but if there seems to be enough interest I would consider resurrecting it. There is a substantial amount of work to be done. For starters, Android has changed significantly since I originally wrote the software. Additionally, the data feed where I check for deals was changed slightly in a way that sometimes breaks the software. The backcountry.com website itself has also changed significantly, breaking some of the peripheral functionality, such as product searches and loading descriptions and images. Fixing the app might be nearly a rewrite of the original software. This is all stuff that was outside of my control since I was using resources not owned by me, and ultimately if we want the app to continue working, I’ll have to continually maintain it as backcountry.com, steepandcheap, et al. change over time. Ideally, I’ll find the time for all of this, but no promises…

      Does the app store launch? What exactly goes wrong? FYI the app is outdated. It may not work well on phones with Android 4. I’m working on fixing all of this but no ETA as of yet.

    I’m trying to get a web site and I have an i phone. Now it says it wants me to download the goggle play store app to continue. I have tried everything to download it and it won’t let me…

      There is no iPhone version of the app. Sorry hopefully one day there will be!
