Stevens Storm Skiing

My first PNW powder footage! After dealing with goPro issues all season, I was glad to finally record some turns. I headed up Monday for some storm skiing after 30″ in 48hrs at Stevens Pass. Baker has been getting dumped on, but was out of reach for a mid-week solo day trip. I had basically no clue where to go on a powder day, since I’ve spent more time up at Baker, especially when Rob was visiting, and Crystal otherwise. Luckily I had the good fortune of skiing a most of the day with a Stevens regular I met on the lift, who showed me around.

It was a great day to get out and enjoy the snow!

Cold Smoke

The Jay Cloud was in full effect and we hit the road good and early for first chair on Saturday morning. We scored first tracks on deliverance and found face-shots aplenty throughout the rest of the day. With a few inches of refresher, Sunday was in nearly as good condition as Saturday with well over a foot of fresh over the entire weekend following roughly four feet during the previous week. For day two we hit Big Jay, then made a slightly ill informed attempt at Gilpin, across the street from The Dip. The results…well see for yourself!

Winter 2012: It was the best times, it was the worst of times…

Even though it basically didn’t snow last season, we were determined to get after it. In the end, I was so thrilled with out accomplishments during such trying times, I decided to whip up a season encompassing highlight reel. If this is season even approaches last season in awesomeness I’ll be content.

Hood Footage

The original plan was to do a whole bunch more editing and get this thing wrapped up properly, but that was like 6 months ago and it’s time to concede defeat. For posterity, here is the Mt. Hood Highlight Reel, rife with bad lighting, dull moments, and lack of sound track. It does, however, have some half-decent chase cam.

Eventually I think I’ll bang out a Winter 2012 Retrospective, but for now, here’s this:
